Hospital Punta Pacifica “Surgeries Week”
For us, the issue of inequality in health is paramount, in view of the fact that the social security system does not have the infrastructure or technology to meet the existing needs. Therefore, as a private hospital, modern and highly technological, we feel in solidarity and socially responsible with this situation. Through four consecutive years, we have shared our knowledge and ability with the Panamanian population that really require it, in order to make a positive change in society through our social responsibility program called "SEMANA DE LAS CIRUGIAS" (WEEK OF SURGERIES), by means of which, there have been made around 100 free surgeries to people suffering from diseases and deformities that prevented them from having a quality of life and affected their development in their social environment.
Thus, what they called from the beginning the Week of Surgeries, has become a private initiative from a group of Directors of the hospital and its affiliate John Hopkins Medicine International, gathered with the intention to help and support patients with limited resources. Also, this program provides strategies and actions to substantially improve the quality of life of children and adults, since it has been nourished with contributions from various health providers, foundations, associations, medical personnel, nursing and administrative staff and citizens in general.
Supported in this mission, Hospital Punta Pacifica aims to have all the beneficiaries and families share the blessing and goodness of all donations, because they look to show solidarity with those who really need it. With this program, the hospital wants to ensure more Panamanian families health, providing services with quality and warmth and giving them an efficient and timely health care. Thus, from the beginning they have been performing general surgeries, reconstructive plastic surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, neurosurgeries, gynecological procedures, radiological procedures, among others.
